Here is the tutorial I promissed, I hope you enjoy and this is usefull. Its 30 pages long, but very well explained, not just copy paste coding. Soon will upload the original fla file if needed, but password for it will only be given out to evolvdstudios-group members, so join now!

Chapter3: Fight turn based system (Example, final fantasy and pokemon gba and nds games)
Chapter 4: Computer controled characters (NPCs, you can interact and take quests with them) and town and house entering and warping to dungeons
Chapter 5: USer passwords and logins, final details

If the code to make MC_dude move in the beginning doesn't work for MX users, I figured it out; the very first { never closes, so there needs to be one extra } at the very end, after everything else. The code should look like this:

MC_dude.onEnterFrame = function(){
radius = 13;
if(Key.isDown(Key.UP)){
this._y -= 10;
this._rotation = 0;
}
if(Key.isDown(Key.DOWN)){
this._y += 10;
this._rotation = 180;
}
if(Key.isDown(Key.LEFT)){
this._x -= 10;
this._rotation = -90;
}
if(Key.isDown(Key.RIGHT)){
this._x += 10;
this._rotation = 90;
}
}

Notice the TWO } at the end. I hope this helps anyone having problems. c:

Thanks for the suggestion mate, But this is sadly terribly outdated. Working on an actionscript 3.0 tutorial since nobody teaches 2.0 anymore :S

I've tried 3.0, and I have to say I like AS2.0 a lot better. It's more straightforward in my opinion.
I'll definitely check out the new tutorial though, maybe I'm just overthinking things. :)

Yes you are right, but hundreds of new, and even more flexible features were added in AS 3.0, including gravity functions, advanced physics and even 3d space functionality which blends into more advanced software like adobe after effects, but its really all about the person using them
